This week it’s Men’s Health Week, so we’re talking about the issues that impact the wellbeing of Aussie males. Breast cancer is often seen as a ‘women’s disease’, with one in eight Australian women diagnosed before the age of 85. But in reality it doesn’t just affect women- men can get it too. Tess chatted with Professor John Boyages, Oncologist at Macquarie University Hospital Sydney and author of “Male Breast Cancer: Taking Control”. He told us about the warning signs, the risk factors, the toll a diagnosis can take on mental health and self esteem, and potential preventative actions.
