Meteor Orbit: a space jazz

Three words. Ephemera: Space Jazz. If that doesn’t intrigue you, I don’t know what will. Meteor Orbit merges the sound worlds of jazz and contemporary classical, set to real space sounds and projections, to coincide with Perseid Meteor Shower, an event that occurs once a year in July and creating a truly unique experience.

Meteor Orbit is a musical exploration of celestial landscapes such as planetary atmospheres, stars, sun, pulsars, and void. It features Keyna Wilkins on the piano and flute, Elsen Price on the double bass and loop pedal, and Will Gilbert on the trumpet playing alongside the ‘star’ of the show – the astronomical Perseid Meteor Shower. It’s showing at Parramatta’s Riverside theatre on Sunday 23rd July at 4pm.

Keyna Wilkins she joins Danny Chifley on the Breakfast show to tell us more.
