Mobile banking app hack. Is your data safe?
As we become more and more connected, it seems that banking via our smartphone is now commonplace. We don’t think twice about logging in to check our balance, transfer cash or even withdraw money via ATMs using our phone, but what if your supposedly secure login is stolen?
It has been revealed that hackers have developed software that resides on your phone in disguise and can mimic the login page from over 20 different banks in Australia. This is some scary stuff and to discuss the threat and what you can do, we spoke to Nick Fitzgerald. He is the Australian and NZ senior research fellow at ESET, a leading security solutions provider.
