Australia’s Modern Slavery Act
Australian companies will soon have to address the risks of modern slavery within their company because of the long awaited Modern Slavery Act.
The Act passed through Parliament at the end of last month with legislation officially taking effect as of January 1 2019. The Act require businesses operating in Australia with a consolidated revenue above $100 million to complete a mandatory report annually on the risks of modern slavery in their company’s operations and through supply chains.
