Monocultural Media

We are constantly being told about the bias and prejudice in news and the media. However, the current U.S presidential election has brought to light that the media may perhaps be shifting to become less diverse and the issue of publicising opinions is becoming even more blurred. This issue is believed to become worse if republican presidential candidate gets the numbers in the election.

Many people in Australia are questioning whether this influence from the United States and media shift could also become an issue here also and how would it affect the way we continue to consume our news and media.

Earlier, we were joined by Vincent O’Donnell, Honorary Research Associate of the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University to discuss this issue.
