More Civil Societies: Distrust

Over a week after the Wentworth by-election, most of the explanation of the result has centered on this year’s Canberran turmoil. But it neglects a wider issue of general distrust of the major parties and our major institutions. Many polls are showing voters turning off major parties. More disturbingly, others are showing that people are not considering democracy as an import part of our society. When voters across the world are electing strongmen, what does the future hold?
