Morrison Government’s ‘Whole Family’ Approach to Domestic Violence Prevention Goes Against Expert Advice
Advocacy groups have criticised the Morrison government’s allocation of funding to help combat family and domestic violence across the country. The federal government’s 10 million dollar package is set to go towards a selected number of family relationship services with an emphasis on ‘whole family’ approaches including couples counselling and family mediation services. Organisations working with survivors of family and domestic violence however, claim that these services are at odds with research about how to best prevent domestic violence.Today the Daily spoke to the Director of the NSW Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, Hayley Foster.
