In the world of silver screen, it seems like everything’s coming to an end in 2019. The first phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Game of Thrones, Star Wars at the end of this year, but while everyone praises the graphics, acting, and plot, what really brings out these colours is the post-production, specifically Foley effects. The best Foley art isn’t even noticed by an audience, but remove it from the final mix and there’s just something fundamentally missing in the cinematic experience.  Ms. Alison Walker, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Arts in Macquarie University, helped us explain exactly what Foley is.
