Murray Darling Basin Water Theft
| In July 2017 a four corners episode investigated allegations of water theft by irrigators in the northern part of the Murray Darling Basin.
This sparked a Royal Commission run by the SA Government and the Matthews Commission run by the NSW Government. The Matthews commission recommended that an independent authority be set up to monitor and enforce water licences for irrigators and other users of water in NSW, and we check in with the Natural Resource Access Regulator to see who is doing it right. |
