National Skin Cancer Action Week
Cancer Council launches an ‘Own Your Tone’ campaign today for National Skin Cancer Action Week (18-24 November). With two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70 and more than 2,000 Australians dying from skin cancer each year the need to change our attitudes towards skin care has never been greater.
2SER spoke to Cancer Council about their campaign encouraging people not to tan this summer but to instead embrace their natural skin tone. Chair of Skin Cancer Committee Heather Walker spoke to 2SER about the campaign and their new research on teenagers’ perceptions of tanning.
