New Emergency Visa Proposal calls for improvement of Australia’s refugee and humanitarian visa scheme
As of yet, Australia has responded to those seeking humanitarian assistance with up to 25 different types of visas.
While this ad hoc approach has offered elbow room in government response, it has also heightened inconsistencies within the visa processing system.
The precarity of this system has ushered in a proposal for a more predictable and equitable emergency visa, particularly for those fleeing Gaza and Sudan.
