New framework launched to combat violence against women with disabilities
Two in every three women with disabilities in Australia have experienced violence and disrespect since the age of 15.
The framework launched this week through Our Watch and Women with Disabilities Victoria is built on decades of research to ensure women with disabilities feel valued, included, and treated with respect.
Our Watch says the violence is driven by sexism and ableism as well as other forms of discrimination but is preventable.
