New Funding to Help Fight Domestic Violence
Yesterday, the Morrison government announced a 328 million dollar package of strategies to help prevent domestic violence in Australia. The package includes training for health workers, intensive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and additional assistance for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The 1800 RESPECT helpline service has also received funding as part of the package.
General Manager of 1800 RESPECT, Nicole McMahon, spoke to Sam further with us about the announcement.
