The Northern Territory has unique challenges to face when speaking about its medical workforce.
Since the NT has many regional and remote areas, where the Aboriginal population is high, it is a challenge to retain GPs in those areas.
A new medical program proposed by Charles Darwin University is planning on opening a new locally-led medical program to train Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal medical students and retain them to support regional and remote areas around the Territory.
