Get your note pads and pens ready because we have another bunch of sizzling hot bangers lined up for you this week.

Soulacoasta II is the second album of Melbourne electronic based duo Close Counters and the feature album this week at 2SER! This high-energy duo has created an incredibly well constructed electronic funk/soul record that is just as groovy on the dance floor as it is in the office. Many tracks are imbued with elements of 80s boogie, jazz-dance goodness, working in elements of french touch, UKG and excellent sample-based arrangements that capture the spirit of early 00s house music, while pushing the genre forward.

Fans of Elliott Smith and Alex G should definitely check out Mind Palace Music by Baltimore folk duo ‘@’ (AT). With sweet harmonies reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, candid lyrics, and minimalistic warm fuzzy musical textures, Mind Palace Music hits every note you would want a soft folk pop album to hit.

Next up is Melbourne based punk-rock band CIVIC’s latest album Taken by Force. Their second album, this hard-hitting grimy garage rock/punk maintains a high voltage ripping energy from beginning to end. Fans of Crocodylus, Icehouse, Royal Chant and TV Priest should check this album out.

If there is one album I urge you to listen to it’s The Sun Isn’t Gone by Naarm based solo artist Orange Orange. This incredible self-produced album is just a taste of greater things to come from Orange Orange. With a unique blend of musical genres, it’s hard to pin down The Sun Isn’t Gone but a rock, pop, electronic, psych and folk record that lyrically explores what it means to be human in an obsessive world almost sums it up…give it a listen and find out for yourself!
