Showering audiences with radiant vocals and tight grooves, Squid Nebula have gifted us with their debut LP, “From Here To You”, the 2SER Feature Album of the Week. The Naarm/Melbourne soul collectives first full length album showcases the incredible chemistry and musicianship of the group, with Noongar vocalist Bumpy beautifully complimenting the band with infectious vocals exploring perspectives on change in life and relationships. The group, consisting of members from the likes of Quality Used, Cars and Bohjass, have been around the Naarm soul scene for over a decade, performing under an array of different guises, and leave us eagerly waiting for what’s to come next!

Zimbabwean born Australian singer-songwriter Tkay Maidza has released her second LP, “Sweet Justice”, following up from her debut self-titled album in 2016. Off the back of a trilogy of EPs from 2018 to 2021, Tkay returns on “Sweet Justice” looking to break-off from self-doubt and her warped sense of self . “Sweet Justice” features a slick RnB and contemporary soul theme reinforced by collaborators such as Kaytranada on tracks like “Ghost!” and “Our Way” working in dreamy synth pads with punchy percussion adding to the razor sharp production throughout the record.

Psychedelia fans are in for a treat with the new Druid Fluids LP “Then, Now, Again & Again”  . The debut LP from Adelaide/Kaurna-based singer and songwriter Jamie Andrew’s features track after track of unravelled psych-rock, littered with free flowing guitars and washy drums reminiscent of the 60s psych rock aesthetic. With shimmering instrumentation all the way through, this is a must listen if you’re a fan of acts like The Lazy Eyes and Hot Apple Band.

“The Way On Is The Way Off” is the fifth album from Hobart/Lutrawita duo The Native Cats and gels its deconstructed minimalist post-punk sound masterfully. The record features carefully considered songwriting with varying track elements being chosen for their unique emotional impact, as each track looks to tackle the band’s scintillating post-punk sound with a meticulous approach led by vocalist Chloe Alison Escott’s theatrical reflections on post-punk history and identity issues.

Laced with chopped samples and jazzy hip hop beats, Western Sydney rapper, producer and film maker Zion Garcia releases his incredible debut EP “ZION GARCIA: (THEATRICAL  VERSION)”. Zion’s tight and punchy flow never fails to hit throughout, as his pulsing house production maintain an infectious club energy through the EP and allow for Zion to play with and control tempo and groove from one song to the next. Off the back of recent performances at SXSW Sydney and a headline show at Phoenix Central Park, this is just the beginning for this amazing up and coming local artist!

Don’t miss all the new singles added to rotation this week from the likes of  Hayku Kyah with “Sour” and Fallon Crush with “I’m Trying”.
