Kicking it off for this week we have the sophomore album “Silver” from Brooklyn, US trio Say She She, the Feature Album of the Week on 2ser. This groovy modern soul-influenced album will soundtrack your week with its warm synthesizers, smooth drum grooves and soaring vocal harmonies. Heavily influenced by the sounds of early 80’s New York City post-disco and 70’s psychedelic funk, members Piya Malik, Sabrina Cunningham and Nya Gazelle bring an infectious fun energy that makes you want to jump out of your chair and dance. Written and recorded live to tape at Killion Studio in North Hollywood, Say She She have struck gold with this amazing new release!

Kong has announced his debut album “The Yellow King’s Revenge” which pays tribute to the likes of Scientist and Mad Professor through its 80s Jamaican dub influences. Multi-instrumentalist/producer Jack Kong, of bands like The Prize and Traffik Island, uses all the tricks of classic dub producers with his loud splashing spring reverb drums and druggy tape delay loops. Combined with his heavy use of bass, drums and cute melodies, the final result is a groovy and wobbly trip through sunny sounds and hypnotic jams.

All the way from the High Wycombe, England, we have the debut LP “Echoes of Yesterday” from Goodge. Bear witness to the elegant instrumentation from the UK-based beatmaker, utilising vintage samples in his unique blend of trip-hop sounds. The squeaking wah-wah guitars and tweaked vocal snippets show his use of classic production techniques to create an engaging and evolving mix around the crafty keyboard riffs and horn sections.

Melenas bring forth their third studio album “Ahora” from the Spanish psychedelic quartet, a heady trip through reverb-drenched guitars and swirling arpeggiators. Tracks like “K2” and “Bang” showcase the band’s experimentation with synthesizers across the record, working in tones from the Korg Delta and Yamaha PSR-36 to synthesize their unique brand of jangle pop and garage rock. Fans of artists like Seja and Los Bitchos will have this one on repeat, with its catchy and memorable hooks and luminous energy shining from the shimmering production.

Naarm-based sextet EXEK released their sixth studio album “The Map and the Territory”, encapsulating a dark and ominous aesthetic with their film-noir post-punk sound. The overlap of lead singer Albert Wolski’s nihilistic storytelling with the incorporated jazz, krautrock and no-wave elements of the band blend nicely to produce a phenomenal record.

Don’t miss the incredible added to rotation this week as well, from artists like Dyan Tai with their new single “Hantu”, The Boy of Many Colours with “Gondwana” and so much more!
