Adrian Younge is a DJ, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist within the hip-hop circle. Big on analogue production, Younge does not have a single computer in his studio, and mixes together music with a strong 60s/70s vibe. His latest album, “Adrian Younge Presents … Voices of Gemma” is a strange fusion of R&B, jazz and folk sounds. Take a listen to one track off the album, “Chasing Love”.
Nicole Schneit, the queer artist otherwise better as Air Waves, has returned with her third record, “Warrior”. The album is inspired by her mother, who is suffering from fallopian cancer, and her experiences as a queer person living in Trump America. Her song “Tangerine” was inspired by the film of the same name, and follows the struggle of two transgender woman trying to make ends meet as sex workers.
Ernie Hawks and the Soul Investigators, is a jazz instrumental group from Helsinki, Finland.Their debut album, “Scorpio Man”, is a 70s inspired extravaganza, with sounds that belong within a Tarantino film. Take a listen to “Scorpio Man Theme”.
