New Music with Steph Liong

Steph Liong is back with the hot new tracks for the week.

We’re starting off your Monday with some homegrown talent in Melbourne band Harmony, with the release of their 3rd album “Double Negative”.  Previously dealing with themes of loss/despair, they’ve decided to do something different with this album and turned to the theme of love. You’ve never heard hypnotizing sounds like this; ragged rock with a tough exterior and soulful center, and melodies that run deep. This track is called “Indifference”.

British experimental pop band Pram have released their first album in 11 years, titled “Across the Meridian”. Combining the likes of film school music, 30’s jazz, electronica and post-punk experimentation, it creates a dramatic, dreamlike atmosphere. Check out this song “Dolls Eyes”.

To wrap it up we finish with a Philadelphia local Rosali Middleman, who goes by Rosali. If you’re a fan of the likes of The War on Drugs you’ll enjoy this one too. Her 2nd album “Trouble Anyway” goes into moody heartland rock territory, but also has some more traditional folk tracks and softer country ballads in the mix. Take a listen to “Lie to Me”.
