NEW MUSIC WITH STEPH LIONG
Another Monday morning means another round of new music!
Starting us off this week, we have guitar goddess Anna Calvi back after a 5 year hiatus with her 3rd album, ‘Hunter’. The Avant-pop record is fearless and immersive in addressing queer identity and gender norms, highlighted through the chosen track ‘As A Man’.
School Damage, the foursome out of Geelong have hit back with a their new album only a year after their first, ‘A to X’. The record features woozy, jangle pop, with short disorientating tracks encapsulated through their track ‘Isn’t it easy’.
Devon Welsh, former front man of Majical Cloudz has put out a solo album entitled “Dream Songs”. The hauntingly atmospheric record is a far cry from Majical Cloudz, as it features a lighter approach highlighting guitars, pianos and string quartet as apposed to the electronic pop of Majical Cloudz. Take a listen to ‘The Daylight’.
