Steph Liong is back to start your new year with some new music!

Soul legend, Lee Fields, has announced a new album to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his debut single. The new album will be released on April 5th, but you can check out the title track now, Let it Rain. With a smooth and funky bassline, cascading key rift and horn embellishment, the message is one of love and optimism, the perfect sentiment for the new year.

We have another new song from Twerps ex-frontman, Martin Frawley’s debut solo album, Undone at 31. The latest single is Chain Reaction and much like the rest of the album, throws itself wholeheartedly into the raw and real feelings of Frawley’s break up. The album is out on 21 February.

Finally, we have the latest from Ibibio Sound Machine with Tell Me from their new album, Doko Mien. The track is filled with high afro-beat energy, starting with kitchen sink percussion and vocal chop that runs throughout the song. There is a compelling absurdity and fun that stays with the whole song and will leave you desperate for 22 March when the full album will be released.
