New Online Safety Bill Risks the Livelihoods of Sex Workers

A new draft law by the Morrison government implemented with the objects to keep Australians safe on the internet, sex workers fear to be further subjected to categorization and misconceptions as the eSafety commissioner is given the power to remove ‘unfit’ content within 24 hours. Additionally, based on the online content scheme, the bill allows users to categorize sexual content into two broad classifications which may result in sex workers platforms to be shut down along with their clients and livelihood.
