NEW Pirate musical – Bonny and Read plays at 107 Redfern
Bonny and Read is a new Australian musical based on real female pirates of the 1700s. A story about a cut-throat female pirate, Captain Anne Bonny who sails alongside Calico Jack. They capture Mary Read on their ship, however, the captured Reed, turns into captivated Reed, and they end up all working together.
Bonny and Read explore love, identity, and finding your place in a world where you didn’t think you would belong.
Presented by Shopfront’s ArtsLab, it’s currently playing on the 107 Redfern stage till March 24. Bonny and Read is written by Music Director Aiden Smith and Director Emily Whiting. Emily joins Danny in the studio, on 2SER Breakfast.
