New program gives Central Coast women access to home birth

Women on the Central Coast of NSW will now have the option to give birth in the privacy and comfort of their own home, with access to a free midwife through the public health system.

The public-funded program was implemented last year, and hopes to reduce the need for interventions and the amount of newborns admitted to a special care nursery.
