New report highlights growing rental stress for low-income Australians nationwide
A new report has found Australians on the lowest incomes are being priced out of rental markets across the country, despite recent increases to Centrelink and Rent Assistance payments.
Released by advocacy group Everybody’s Home, the Priced Out 2024 report reveals those on JobSeeker, pensions, and minimum wage are facing severe rental stress in every capital city and most regional areas, with growing calls for more social housing and better-targeted financial support.
