Did you know that self-harm, obesity and mental ill-health are on the rise amongst Australian adolescents? A new research centre was launched at the beginning of this month in Westmead in Sydney’s west to bring together researchers, clinicians and young people across Australia, to patch-up the past errors of Australia’s health system. Professor Kate Steinbeck from the University of Sydney leads the Centre of Research Excellence in Adolescent Health and discusses these problems with us, as well as potential solutions.
