New South Wales brumby culling in the spotlight

New South Wales Parks and Wildlife Services announced the northern reaches of Kosciuzko will close for 6 months to remove feral horses.

A brumby is an invasive species, where the bigger the population is, the impact it has on the ecosystem.

The Wire’s contributor from TuneFM Ash Taylor asked Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of New England Karl Vernes, how widespread the species they’re outside these areas.
