New UTS College to Celebrate Indigenous Heritage and Culture
Last week, the University of Technology Sydney announced its plans to build a UTS Indigenous Residential College, designed to increase Indigenous participation in higher education and celebrate Indigenous heritage and culture.
The estimated 100 million dollar facility will provide accommodation mainly for Indigenous students, but also will have places for non-Indigenous students. Early artist impressions depict a building that will be light, airy and complete with Indigenous design features. The final design will be resolved in consultation with Indigenous stakeholders.
Tess was joined by UTS Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Indigenous Leadership and Engagement and Wiradjuri man Professor Michael McDaniel to chat about the exciting announcement.
