The Newtopian Dream: supporting Sydney’s homeless
Last night was the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre’s Newtopian Dream sleep out, aimed at raising funds and awareness for Sydney’s growing homeless population and shine a spotlight on housing affordability.
Breakfast’s own Nic Healey was among 60 people who participated in the sleep out, and we crossed live to him in the heart of the Newtown Square where he spoke to Marina, a woman who found herself and her daughter homeless and her experiences with the NNC.
He also spoke to fellow sleep-out camper Pauline Lockie, an independent candidate for Stanmore in the upcoming Inner West Council election.
It’s not too late to support the cause. Head on over to Nic’s support page and donate to help the NCC reach their goal.
