NSW childcare centres attract more safety breaches than rest of Australia

New documents released by the NSW government reveal hundreds of incidences of child abuse and subsidy fraud in the state’s childcare centres.
Childcare providers are currently only required to sit an online knowledge test and meet a ‘fit and proper’ standard to operate in New South Wales.
A NSW government inquiry and parliamentary inquiry into early childhood care and education are currently underway, with calls for a royal commission into the matter.
