NSW enforces ban on single use plastic bags
Plastic creation, disposable and even recycling has had major impacts on our environment hence calls for reduction of using plastic bags on a national and global level has been a hot topic. NSW is set to ban single use plastic bags from 1st of June and it is estimated that 2.7 billion plastic bags will be stopped from circulating NSW over the next 20 years. But how effective will this initiative be, in minimising waste and carbon footprint on the environment.
The Monday Daily host, Annie Lee was joined by Associate Professor Peter Davies, of Environmental Planning and Policy at Macquarie University, to discuss further.
