NSW Parliament announces Inquiry into Impacts of WestConnex
Last week, the NSW Parliament announced that it will be conducting an official inquiry into the impacts of Westconnex, after years of pressure from local community groups.
The Inquiry will look into issues like the cost-benefit of the massive road project; budget blowouts; the compulsory acquisition of properties; impacts on local communities; and whether or not Westconnex – which is now projected to cost well over $17 billion – will be a worthwhile investment of public money.
John Lozano from NOW PT (No Westconnex – Public Transport) joined Tess to share his reaction to the announcement and his hopes for the Inquiry.
