NSW rental reforms welcomed, but more change still needed

Audio Player

This week, New South Wales Premier Chris Minns announced key rental reforms will come into effect as of May 19th this year.

The reforms aim to make the rental market fairer, by requiring landlords to provide valid reasoning for ending all leases, and making it easier for tenants to keep a pet.

More than 2.3 million renters in NSW are expected to benefit from the changes to rental laws.

Further information about the reforms can be found from the Tenant’s Union of New South Wales or from New South Wales Fair Trading.
