OK Democracy, We Need To Talk
Thanks to technology, there are more opportunities for democratic change than ever before. And with that comes the (sometimes scary) reality that our voices can always be heard by a really big audience – whether that’s through an angry Twitter rant or an innocent food post on Instagram. But what does the future hold for democracy in our ever-increasing digital age, and how do we use our role as digital citizens in a positive way?
Ok Democracy, We Need To Talk is an artistic movement aimed at stepping back and reflecting on these changes, and how they’re influencing power structures in Australia and around the world.
Nicole Beck chatted to co-curator Adam Porter about the ideas behind the exhibition and why it’s important to reflect on them.
