Older Australians at Risk of Homelessness
A recent report from Mission Australia has called on all levels of government to act immediately on the critical shortage of housing and support services for older Australians. Because of the shortage, older Australians are at severe risk of homelessness. Those aged 65 years and older already make up 17% of Australia’s homeless population, a figure unfortunately likely to grow.
