Trigger Warnings and Safe Spaces in the Classroom

A trigger is something that stimulates memories of past traumatic experiences. It could be any of the five senses, it could be physical people, places and times themselves. In any case, triggers are hard to predict, and can be disturbing to many. That is why trigger warnings are in place for writing, images, or concepts that are distressing for people.
