China’s “New Silk Road” policy has been hitting headlines again this week, with the highly ambitious economic project having seen 68 countries sign up so far.
Australia isn’t one of these countries. It in fact hasn’t given any sort of indication as to its position on the policy.
Nic was joined by Dr. Lai-Ha Chan, Senior Lecturer at UTS’s Political and Social Science Program, to discuss how this indecision affects Australia, how we may or may not stand to benefit, and China’s intent behind the project.
