Online Tutoring Helping Kids Learn Through Lockdown

Lockdowns are tough on everyone. But spare a thought for kids. COVID-19 has tilted the educational playing field. If you don’t have a device that can access the internet, how do you even engage with remote learning? In a program designed to bridge this digital divide and keep kids learning, children’s charity The Smith Family arranged for 100 children to receive online tutoring in literacy and numeracy to keep them engaged while outside the classroom. Anne Hampshire, Head of Research and Advocacy for The Smith Family, joined Toby to discuss the program and its results.
