An open letter calling for a pause on AI development has been signed by over 50,000 people, including Elon Musk and some AI experts.

The letter, created by the Future of Life Institute, cites risks that highly developed artificial intelligence could pose to society.

Given the power of this technology, experts recognise the need to develop AI safely and responsibly.
