Could Open Source Cure Malaria?

There’s new system that could revolutionise the pharmaceutical industry, it’s called ‘open source’ drug discovery. This system is based on sharing information freely for other scientists to use. Today Nic had a chat with Associate Professor Matthew Todd, the is the founder of of the Open Source Malaria Consortium at the University of Sydney. He hopes this ‘open source’ strategy will fast track a cure for malaria. He is presenting the findings of his collaborative study at the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria in Brisbane this week.
