Orla Gartland on “Everybody Needs A Hero”, FIZZ and The Secret Demo Club

If you were on the same side of the internet as me in 2015, there’s no doubt you would have stumbled across the incomparable Orla Gartland.
The Dublin-born, London-based artist has been kicking around the music scene since 2009 – after posting her first youtube video at 13 years old.
Now at 29, she’s just come off the back of releasing her second studio album ‘Everybody Needs A Hero’ and a sold-out North American tour.
‘Everybody Needs A Hero’ is a masterful combination of what Gartland does best. An intertwining of the bashful and intimate in what feels like a completely authentic and individual body of work. Her sound has expanded and evolved over the years, into a lyrically evolved and dynamic collection of tracks.
She sat down with Dream State host Jas, to chat all about ‘Everybody Needs a Hero’, committing to the colour scheme of an album and her third place, the Secret Demo Club.’
You can purchase a copy of ‘Everybody Needs a Hero’ here, or stream anywhere you can find good music.
