Schools Week: Overcrowding and Infrastructure

Tess starts our schools week talking about school infrastructure to Peter Goss, the School Education Program Director from Grattan Institute. Overcrowding is a growing concern for many families and schools, particularly as NSW Education enrolment data for 2018 revealed that almost one third of all public schools in NSW are full or overflowing with students. This can have a significant impact on the learning experience of students both in and out of the classroom. The government has pledged $4.2 billion dollars to help ease the growing student population, but will it be enough? The answer is not a simple one, but you can be sure it will require a lot more classes, a lot more teachers and a lot more money.
