The Government hasn’t been having the best last few days, and now things are set to get even worse, as they’ve even lost a vote on a bill which criticizes the Turnbull Government for their failure to protect the Great Barrier Reef. It got turned over not too long afterwards, but will this brief acknowledgement of this bill actually encourage the Government to do something about it or will it just more false hope?

The Daily spoke to Dr Maxine Newlands, Lecturer of Political Science at James Cook University about if this acknowledgement could potentially be the jump start we need to start healing the dying Reef.
