Parklea Prison Riot
The riot at Parklea Correctional Centre earlier this week saw prisoners climbing into the roof and starting a fire. This has been in response to the conditions at the prison and the Black Lives Matter movement, where Aboriginal prisoners have died in custody. The owner of the privately run prison has defended itself and the conditions within the prison, while unions have claimed this riot was just waiting to happen. 2SER was joined by Brett Collins, Coordinator of Justice Action to discuss this issue.
