Parliamentary Protests
Question Time in Parliament House was suspended this week when dozens of protesters unveiled a banner in the house of representatives saying “Stop trading Lives, Close the camps now” and glued their hands to the railings.
Protests against Australia’s off-shore detention centres continued on Thursday morning when two men scaled parliament house and dropped a banner that said “close the bloody camps now”.
These actions were organised by members of the Whistleblowers Activists and Citizens Alliance.
Sydneysider Bridget Harilaou was involved in the protests in Canberra, and she joined us on The Daily.
