Passenger Demand Through the Roof on Sydney Trains
Data collected over the past year from Opal cards has shown a spike in the demand on Sydney Trains. Trips have increased by more than 11 per cent across the rail network, equating to an extra 3.1 million trips compared to last year’s data. These findings, along with others, highlight the intense strain that is being put on the ageing rail network, leading to trains running late and regular overcrowding.
