PERI uh GIA!! New original musical Periergeia hits the stage and we’re as curious as Pandora about what her soul desires…

This week, beloved Drive presenter Sean Hatzi had to be Superman and save the airwaves from mass destruction so Wednesday Drive producer Monica moved from traffic reports to interview chats and got to speak with Amy Lawler – Director, and Miriam Green – Writer of their new exhibition musical Periergeia. A rap musical that takes a walk in the world and heart of Pandora, the first woman alive in Greek history!

Pandora must navigate through a world of wonder, excitement and deceit but when her heart befriends a voice coming from the box that holds all her soul’s desires she has a decision to make.

Amy spoke on her experiences directing a musical for the first time as opposed to her other theatre and film roles in the past and about working with a female-led team plus how collaborative everyone was. We spoke about how their choreographer uses movement to add to and embody the storytelling while Miriam gave us insight on how the inspiration behind her original musical came together and how she has adapted it from a 30-minute piece to a full-length stage production. There was talk of previous ideas on historical Greek stories buuuut you’ll have to listen back to the interview and hear what that’s about!

Miriam and Amy’s question to you is…

Will her curiosity pay the price for what darkness is worth?
