Period Poverty Still Exists In Australian High Schools

Across Australia, there are many people currently in period poverty, who have limited access to sanitary products.  It’s a serious issue that is causing students to miss out on school. A recent study by the Queensland University of Technology investigates the impact period poverty has on students in Australian high schools. 

 Dr. Ruth Knight from The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies based at the Queensland University of Technology  joined us on the show. She prepared the report in partnership with the charity organisation, Share the Dignity.
