Over the last three decades Persian cinema has produced some of the most pioneering film-makers in the world, succeeding in scooping up most of the major international cinema prizes, giving us everything from highly personal dramas to daring experimental films.

Each year to celebrate this wealth of talent the Persian Film Festival showcases the best Persian language films from Iran and abroad.

Stephen Hill talked to festival director Amin Palaghi about this year’s line up.
