Peter Dutton Sights on Child Sex Offenders
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton has proposed new legislation that will lead to a publicised national database of child sex offenders in Australia. In order to make this happen he needs the support of all the States and Territories of Australia to provide data and has called out. Some specialists argue against the plan, stating it will only make it more difficult for repentant offenders to reintegrate back into society and that similar policies in the United States have not been effective. We spoke about this complex issue with Marietta Martinovic, Senior Lecturer at RMIT University.
